Travel with a Purpose: A Different Kind of Travel Guide part 2

I have mellowed down from volunteering and have focused on inner care of self.. and once I’m self sustainable again, I can be able to do what I love doing – to travel with a purpose.

For those who also wants to travel with a purpose, I prefer that you connect to grassroot or local organizations in the area that you want to visit because they know the real needs of the community.

I will list some of them here because I am personally involved or have personally visited the projects.

Tribe Community Immersions

If you want to soak in the culture, take the risk to climb mountains and visit the people who are Mother Nature’s guardians.

Self Sustainable Communities

So far, I have visited Hetauda, Nepal and Aqua Peace Farm in Palompon, Leyte as a self sustainable community. Although they still need funds specially now that Nepal recently had a major earthquake. But hopefully, with their way of living, they will need lesser money already.

These are German volunteers who helped built sustainable houses in the communities.

The community in Antique is still under construction as local people prefer to drink softdrinks than healthy buko juice.. I’ll keep an update on the development.

Library Projects

These are different book projects led by Pinoy Travel Bloggers. Feel free to join one if you fancy.

Cleanup movements

I have participated in the Let’s Do It Movement last November. You may want to organize an activity on your own in your school or community.

The part one of this list was a collaboration of different Pinoy Travel Bloggers who also volunteer while they travel. You can view them at this link.

Please note that this list is growing as I continue to visit more organizations and highlight them on this blog. You are also welcome to contribute.

You can travel and have fun. And while you are at it, you might as well help out the community who takes care of the beautiful paradise that you are visiting.
